Dissemination Meeting: Baseline Survey and Capacity Needs Assessment
TARSAN-CSO organized a dissemination meeting on the findings of the Baseline Survey and Capacity Needs Assessment of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) at Summer Palace Hotel, Dhaka, on 27 February 2012. The purpose of this event was to share the results of the Baseline Survey and Capacity Needs Assessment of CSOs conducted by Research, Training and Management (RTM) International, with relevant stakeholders. The project is funded by the European Union (EU) and being implemented by Swisscontact in collaboration with RTM international.
The objective of the baseline survey was to collect detailed information of the current healthcare system including provision of healthcare service delivery of the target areas by using pre-designed questionnaire from the selected beneficiary households on pre-selected issues and parameters for the result based monitoring of the TARSAN-CSO project. The capacity needs assessment of CSOs was conducted to assess the existing strengths, needs and gaps of each CSO so that the capacity development program could be undertaken for each CSO at grass root level to ensure a sustainable and quality health care system in TARSAN-CSO project locations.
Dr. Jafar Ahmad Hakim, Project Manager TARSAN-CSO, welcomed all the participants and shared the survey objectives with them. Mr. Jamil H. Choudhury, Director Research, RTM International was present along with his team. Mr. Subrata K Bhadra, Consultatnt RTM International presented the findings of Baseline Sruvey, while Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman presented the findings of the Capacity Needs Assessment of CSOs. Among others, representatives from CSOs were present at this dissemination meeting.
Finally the dissemination meeting ended with a wrap-up session by Dr. Ayasha Siddiqua, Deputy Project Manager of TARSAN-CSO.
